Seasons

Father Time (FT) enters the room accompanied by Visionary Clock (VC).
FT: Hello dear audience and I welcome you to this important trial. I am Father Time and this is my dear and loyal assistant Visionary Clock. Together we shall present you a story that repeats itself every year in my kingdom. The seasons fight over time and power. They all try to convince that only ONE season is the best and that the rest should disappear. I decided, once and for all, to listen to them one last time. I hope you're all going to help me decide what's best.
VC: Let's start with Spring

Spring enters the room with its helpers (Snowdrop, March, April and May). They are all dressed in spring colors. Snowdrop is carrying flowers. Sounds of birds and water flowing.

SPRING: Hello everyone! Everything starts with me, isn't this right?
VC: Yes, yes...We know…Tell us Spring, exactly, what joy do you bring to people?
SPRING: Every year I am the one who brings joy to Earth after a harsh winter. I am the symbol of life, my green makes everyone happy. I bring these beautiful snowdrops to you all!
SNOWDROP: I am the most beautiful flower!
MARCH: I bring you Mother's day!
APRIL: I give you Easter bunnies and colored eggs!
MAY: And I offer you roses and the first sunshine!
SPRING: Aren't we the best?

FT: Ok, ok… That's enough! Let's hear someone else Visionary Clock!
VC: It's time for Summer to present its speech!

Summer enters the room with its helpers (Sun, June, July, August). Happy music.

FT: You are very happy my dear daughter and I am glad…What joy do….(he doesn't finish the sentence)
SUMMER: Happiness! Holiday! Seaside! Do I need to say more? What is life without these things?
VC: Slow down Summer… You aren't the only one who brings happiness to people!
SUMMER: But I am the only one who brings you plenty of SUN!
SUN: My sunshine is so nice! I know you love it!
SUMMER: And I offer you the most beautiful months!
JUNE: Holiday comes with me! Children adore me!
JULY: And I give you trips and a lot of free time!
AUGUST: I am the best time for seaside!
SUMMER: Aren't WE the best?

FT: OK! Enough you too! I am so hot…I think I would like an autumn rain…
VC: Then, let's welcome Autumn!

Autumn enters the room with its helpers (Rain, September, October, November). Sounds of rain, thunders and storm.
AUTUMN: Hello my dears! I am here to save you after such a hot Summer! I know you are waiting for me every year!
RAIN: And I am here to help you!
AUTUMN: Thank you dear Rain! I am the most romantic season and many poets love me! I am also very rich, I offer you great things! Tell them dear helpers!
SEPTEMBER: I am the most intelligent month! It's time to learn many interesting things!
OCTOBER: I give you many fruit and vegetables!
NOVEMBER: I give you time to prepare yourselves for the freezing winter!
AUTUMN: You have to admit: you can't imagine a year without me! I am the most powerful season! Aren't we the best?

FT: Ok, I have to say your rain really refreshed me…but this doesn't mean you are the best! So, dear poets make way to Winter!
VC: We are finally ready to see Winter, your last daughter.

Winter enters the room with its helpers (Snow Princess, December, January and February). Sounds of carols.

WINTER: Hello everyone!
FT: Welcome my last dear daughter!
WINTER: Maybe I am the last, but I'm not the LEAST…Every little thing enjoys winter…The animals finally rest, children finally have some fun…(Summer is not happy with this, she keeps saying 'No way!') not to mention my beautiful white coat…
SNOW PRINCESS: I have a lot of snow for you all! Enjoy it!
WINTER: Which is your favorite holiday? (Spring and its helpers shout 'Easter, of course!') Isn't Christmas the best time of the year?
FT (To VC): To be honest …I would like to celebrate Christmas EVERY DAY and I am sure I will never get bored!
(VC nods his head)
DECEMBER: I have a lot of presents for you! Santa Claus is here children!
JANUARY: I am the first month of the year! I am the beginning of life!
FEBRUARY: I freeze disease!

SUMMER: I'm already frozen… (She is blowing her nose loudly)
WINTER: Let's face this my dear audience…I am the most joyful season and without me children will get so sad! Aren't WE the best?

FT: OK, OK!
VC: This is it Father Time. It's time for you to decide. Which season is the best?
(FT walks slowly in front of the seasons watching them once again. He is thinking)
FT: Here's what I think. Each one of you has some good parts and some bad parts…but one season without the others won't be the same...Because you are somehow equal. I have gathered you here because I felt I have to change something, but as you can see people will be very disappointed without snowdrops, sun, rain or snow! So, I have decided that you all be the same except one thing: don't quarrel anymore! You all are beautiful and strong!
THE WORLD CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT YOU MY DEAR SPRING, SUMMER, AUTUMN AND WINTER!
Everyone hugs and in the end they start dancing.
